Artist Opportunities
The Basement Gallery asks for your patience in our submission review process. We have an exhibition schedule made in advance, but will be able to provide opportunities for artists with slight adjustments and available openings within the current exhibition schedule. We highly recommend applying to one of our Call-For-Entries exhibitions as a way to introduce your work to the gallery and possible inclusion in the exhibition. (these opportunities may provide for faster inclusion in an exhibition than the submission process, considering the limited number of openings throughout a given year)

If you would like to send your portfolio for consideration please try to adhere to the following guidelines:
Send an artist packet containing a cover letter to introduce yourself and your artwork to the gallery Director. Slides, printouts and CD's or DVD’s are acceptable forms of submission. (Mac format is preferred, but we have access to PC) Please include an artist statement about your work along with a resume and biographical information- include previous shows, education, awards, grants, residencies, etc. (also note that major previous exhibition experience is not required. We choose our artists based on the quality of their work, the supporting materials help us to see where you have been and what you have been doing) The Basement will review artist websites and schedule walk-ins, so if you have a website, include the URL within your materials. Mail or drop off a packet, but please understand that we cannot review your artist packet immediately. Submissions are reviewed regularly, so please be patient during this process. If you would like your materials returned you must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. The Basement Gallery is not responsible for lost or damaged submissions or their contents. If we are interested in the work, we would like for you to allow us to file your CD for future reference and possible inclusion in upcoming exhibitions.
